Loctite
Professor Vernon K. Krieble was one of the few college professors who built a multi-billion dollar company.
He invented the anaerobic thread locking adhesive in 1953. He founded the American Sealants Company to market his product. His daughter-in-law suggested that the name be changed to Loctite a few years later.
Soon after, Professor Vernon died. In 1963, Robert H. Krieble (a chemist) took the torch. He expanded the company and introduced many new products.
Henkel purchased Loctite in 1997 and moved its headquarters from Connecticut to Dusseldorf (Germany). Loctite also took admirable steps to go green and focus on sustainable tech.
Loctite has two main groups of products: Build and Fix.
Build
This is primarily a resource for professionals seeking help with the most challenging projects. There is also a DIY-friendly section, but it’s only for skilled in the craft. These items include:

Permatex Threadlocker Vs Loctite Threadlockers
Both brands have thread locker products that are nearly identical. You won’t notice any difference in general usage of the thread locker products from both brands.
However, there are two minor details.
Permatex also offers gel twist-type thread lockers such as the 24010.
It is essentially the same product as the Permatex 24200 and Loctite 242. It does have two significant improvements.
Supports larger fasteners: 1/4″ to 1’’ instead of the usual 1/4″ to 3/4’’.
It is much easier to apply the gel, especially for vertical applications.
Permatex’s fixture time is slightly slower than Loctite 242. It will take around 20 minutes to set, while Loctite 242 takes 15 minutes. Both cure fully after 24 hours.
Note: Loctite243 is a medium-strength threadlocker that doesn’t require gels. It’s a modified version of 242 and 24200, primerless and oil-resistant.
This keeps fasteners even tighter and doesn’t require cleaning the thread sealants thoroughly before using them.
There is no difference in the Permatex and Loctite thread lockers. For strength and hold, they even have the same color scheme.

Permatex Thread Sealant Vs Loctite Thread Sealant

This Threadlocker should be kept in every toolbox. Locktite 2440 is recommended to be replaced by Loctite243. Loctite 2440 Threadlocker is now obsolete.
